Ulsan Nam-gu’s 9th popularly elected administration (Mayor Lim Hyun-cheol) has begun fleshing out the blueprint for its pledge projects aiming at the recovery of the local economy and a new leap forward for Nam-gu, and is now preparing for their implementation.

On the 29th, Nam-gu held the “9th Popularly Elected Mayor’s Pledge Project Implementation Plan Briefing” in the 3rd-floor meeting room of the Ulsan Nam-gu Office to review the direction and feasibility of its pledge projects.

The briefing marked the first step toward realizing the 9th popularly elected administration’s vision―“Nam-gu Running Again, Local Economy Standing Again”―as concrete policy, and was held to flesh out the goals and schedule for each pledge and to prepare for anticipated problems and countermeasures.

The pledges of the 9th popularly elected administration consist of 46 projects under 10 tasks across three key areas: 3 region-based development projects, establishment of 3 growth belts, and 4 happiness care initiatives tailored to all generations.

These include balanced regional development centered on the area around Taehwagang Station, building a growth foundation that links tourism, advanced industries, and urban regeneration, as well as projects closely tied to residents’ daily lives, such as operating the Local Economy 119 Mobile Team, expanding management stabilization funds for small business owners, supporting postpartum care expenses, expanding care facilities, and installing a smart integrated health center.

In particular, the plan is to lay the groundwork for balanced development that reflects the characteristics of each area through the three region-based development projects and the three growth belts, and to organically link tourism, industry, and commercial districts to create new jobs and revitalize the local economy.

At the same time, Nam-gu plans to strengthen tailored support by life stage―covering childbirth and childcare, youth, women, and senior citizens―to build a close-knit care system that every resident can feel in their daily lives.

On this day, each department reported on the goals for each pledge, annual implementation plans, funding plans, matters requiring consultation with related agencies, and anticipated problems and countermeasures.

Nam-gu plans to classify projects into those to be completed within the term of office, those to be launched or have their groundwork laid, and those to be pursued continuously over the mid-to-long term, and to clearly set stage-by-stage goals and performance indicators for each project in order to strengthen the implementation of its pledges.

In addition, for projects requiring national and municipal funding, legal and institutional review, and consultation with related agencies, Nam-gu will closely analyze the conditions for implementation and devise feasible plans, while large-scale, long-term projects will be systematically managed around stage-by-stage goals.

Nam-gu will refine its implementation plans for each pledge project by reflecting the opinions presented at this briefing, and after review and input from the resident-composed Pledge Implementation Evaluation Committee in August, it plans to finalize the 9th popularly elected administration’s pledge project implementation plan in September.

The finalized implementation plan and progress will be disclosed through the Ulsan Namgu Office website and other channels, and Nam-gu will continuously monitor the implementation process and outcomes together with the Pledge Implementation Evaluation Committee to enhance the transparency and accountability of pledge management.

Nam-gu Mayor Lim Hyun-cheol said, “Our pledges are a promise made to residents, and the top priority of the 9th popularly elected administration is to revive the local economy and change Nam-gu’s future,” adding, “Rather than focusing on the scale of projects, we will focus on making changes that residents can genuinely feel in their daily lives, and turn all 46 pledge projects into tangible results.”
