- Local Economy 119 Mobile Team Dispatched to Handle Paperwork and On-Site Inspections in a One-Stop Process -

Ulsan Nam-gu (Mayor Lim Hyun-cheol) announced on the 29th that it has greatly simplified the designation process in order to increase the number of Good Price Businesses that contribute to price stability and the revitalization of the local economy.

Previously, business owners had to prepare the required documents themselves and visit the Ulsan Nam-gu Office in person to apply for designation as a Good Price Business, after which an on-site inspection was conducted separately.

For single-person businesses, finding time to visit the office was often difficult, and in some cases this made it impossible to even apply for the Good Price Business designation.

To resolve this inconvenience, Nam-gu now dispatches its “Local Economy 119 Mobile Team”―launched as the very first official approval of the 9th popularly elected Nam-gu administration―to the site as soon as a business expresses its intent to apply by phone, handling everything from preparing the required documents and application forms to the on-site inspection in one visit.

Nam-gu also plans to periodically visit the roughly 80 already designated businesses to provide consulting so that they continue to meet the designation requirements―such as reasonable pricing, sanitary conditions, and working environment―and to widely promote the businesses to residents by distributing Good Price Business maps, producing promotional videos, and posting on social media.

The Good Price Business designation is a program under which local governments designate personal-service businesses that contribute to local price stability through reasonable prices and clean, sanitary conditions, based on evaluation criteria set by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

It applies to personal-service businesses such as restaurants, hair and beauty salons, bathhouses, and laundries.

Businesses designated as Good Price Businesses receive a Good Price Business signboard along with sector-specific incentives such as garbage bags and reusable containers.

Nam-gu also posts on social media and its website, produces and distributes Good Price Business maps with QR codes, and promotes the businesses through various media.

A Nam-gu official said, “With the launch of the Local Economy 119 Mobile Team, we are promoting a field-oriented, one-stop service so that small business owners can access administrative services more conveniently and receive a variety of support,” adding, “Nam-gu currently has 80 designated Good Price Businesses in operation. Going forward, we will continue to identify more such businesses by streamlining procedures through the mobile team, helping promote price stability while contributing to the revitalization of local commercial districts and the recovery of the local economy.”
