Whale Watching Cruise Spots This Year’s First Pod of About 200 Common Dolphins

The Ulsan Namgu City Management Corporation (Chairman Lee Chun-sil) announced that the Whale Watching Cruise spotted a pod of about 200 common dolphins at sea about 17 km southeast of Jangsaengpo at 3:20 p.m. on the 24th.

This marks the first whale sighting of the year for the Whale Watching Cruise since it began regular operation on March 28, and passengers aboard that day observed the pod of common dolphins swimming vigorously off the coast of Jangsaengpo, Ulsan, for 20 minutes.

Chairman Lee Chun-sil said, “I am glad that, at a time when summer tourist demand is rising following the first whale-watching voyage on March 28, we were able to spot this year’s first pod of dolphins,” adding, “As rising water temperatures bring more abundant food closer to the coast, dolphin pods are increasingly spotted nearby, and I hope the Whale Watching Cruise can continue to bring even greater joy to its passengers.”

He added, “As summer vacation begins, we have prepared a variety of content for the whole family to enjoy, and I hope everyone can experience Ulsan, the whale city, at Jangsaengpo this summer.”
