? On October 25, Wangsaengi-gil becomes a car-free art street for one day ?
? Featuring popular programs like Changhyeon Street Karaoke and performances by local artists and residents ? Ulsan Nam-gu (Mayor Dong-wook Seo) announced that the “Wangsaeng-ro Art On Festival” will be held on October 25 along Wangsaengi-gil (from Nam-gu Office Intersection to Nam Ulsan Post Office). The event, themed “Little by Little, Culture in Everyday Life,” is part of Nam-gu’s signature cultural brand. It is designed as a sensory street festival where citizens can watch, listen, participate, and enjoy together ― in collaboration with local businesses. For the day, the entire stretch of Wangsaengi-gil will become a car-free art street featuring live music performances, outdoor galleries, experience programs, busking, flea markets, and a variety of food and cultural content. The main stage will feature performances by the Youth Orchestra and Children’s Choir, followed by fusion Korean traditional music, hip-hop, youth dance teams, and Nam-gu’s symphony orchestra and choir, showcasing the district’s rich artistic talent. At 3 p.m., the event will feature Changhyeon Street Karaoke (2.34 million subscribers), indie band Lazybone’s live concert, and a jazz & DJ party stage ― delivering performances that transcend generations and genres. Throughout the venue, an Art & Experience Zone will include a youth art fair, photography and movie poster exhibitions, chalk art, tarot and board games, and live painting. Students from the Happy Nam-gu Culture Atelier will serve as street docents, introducing world-famous artworks. The festival also includes free-style busking zones, an offline Carrot Market, a children’s poetry contest, and booths offering craft beer, food, and handmade goods. Mayor Dong-wook Seo emphasized, “The Wangsaeng-ro Art On Festival is more than just an event ― it’s the stage for Nam-gu’s cultural brand “Little by Little, Culture in Everyday Life.” It marks the first step for Wangsaeng-ro to become the heart of Nam-gu’s cultural scene. We will continue to build a city where art and culture blend seamlessly into daily life.” |
