The Ulsan Nam-gu Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Dong-wook Seo) held its 6th board meeting on the 16th at the conference room on the 3rd floor of Nam-gu Office, attended by the chairman and other board members.

During the meeting, the board deliberated and approved three agenda items: Selection of scholarship students who are children of small business owners, Selection of “Hope” scholarships for low-income college students, Review of the 2026 business plan and budget proposal.

Since August, the Foundation had publicly announced the recruitment of both small business owner and Hope scholarship applicants. Through this meeting, it finalized the selection of 52 university students who are children of small business owners and 64 low-income “Hope” university students.

Each child of a small business owner selected will receive a living stipend scholarship of KRW 2 million, while each low-income university student will receive KRW 1 million, providing a total of KRW 168 million in scholarships to 116 recipients. These funds are intended to help the students continue their studies stably.

For 2026, the Foundation plans to continue supporting academic achievement scholarships, small business owner scholarships, and Hope scholarships, while also expanding highly popular programs such as overseas language training for elementary students and the “Udumji Talent Development Project.” In total, 245 students will receive KRW 654 million in support.

Dong-wook Seo, Nam-gu Mayor and Chairman of the Foundation, stated, “Since its establishment in 2005, the Nam-gu Scholarship Foundation has continued to evolve, promoting scholarship programs to nurture outstanding local talent. We will continue doing our best to support the dreams and hopes of young people in our community.”
