? Eye-catching graffiti art shows and random play dance ?
? Mini trains and robot technology experiences for parents and children to enjoy together, free of charge ? The 29th Ulsan Whale Festival will feature family programs at the forefront, turning the Jangsaengpo Whale Culture District into a playground for children and a resting place for parents. Taking place from September 25 to 28, the 29th Ulsan Whale Festival, under the theme “Gift from a Whale, Opening a Future of Hope,” is in its final stages of preparation with experience-based content carefully arranged so visitors can “spend the whole day at the festival.” #Live Graffiti Performance ? Children Can Join Too The “Graffiti Performance―Gift from a Whale” is a live graffiti art show on a massive canvas, bursting with vibrant colors symbolizing hope, courage, love, and happiness. Local artists turn the creative process itself into a performance, transforming the seafront of Jangsaengpo into an open-air gallery, with the finished work later serving as a photo zone. Short “color stamping” participation sessions will be available each round so children can safely add color to the artwork. #Random Play Dance ? A Session with Popular Creator Dancing Bear Programs inspired by the worldwide craze of “K-pop Demon Hunters” also stand out. YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok creator “Dancing Bear,” famous for 9 million subscribers, will showcase K-dance highlights beloved by children. He will personally host the session, breaking down dance moves step by step, adding family team missions and spontaneous awards to create a program in which everyone can participate together. #Children-only Mini Train Ride At Whale Square (inside the Whale Culture Village), a mini train accommodating 10 passengers will operate, designed with low platforms, seatbelts, and gentle speeds so even toddlers can ride safely. This barrel-train style ride will run around Whale Square, turning movement itself into both play and sightseeing, alongside various children’s programs within the square. #Interactive Video Experience ? Learning and Play Combined Whale Sea Exploration will be installed at Whale Square as a 5D immersive space, where floor and wall sensors respond to participants’ movements, making the undersea ecosystem come alive. Activities include gathering plankton with hand gestures and lighting a whale’s path with footsteps. A one-minute safety tutorial video is shown before each session, and entry will be flexibly managed depending on crowd levels. #Smart Science Zone ? Cutting-edge Robot Technology (Titan Robot) Visitors can also experience Titan the Robot, the world’s first entertainment robot. Standing 2.4 meters tall in humanoid form, Titan performs synchronized shows with music and lights, while also offering interactive activities such as copying poses, voice modulation, and photo sessions with the audience. A mini talk titled “Secrets Inside the Robot” will explain the scientific principles in simple terms, with safety guidelines provided (distance markers and decibel information). Nam-gu Mayor Dong-wook Seo who serves as Chairman of the Whale Culture Foundation, said, “We designed this year’s Ulsan Whale Festival by blending science, art, and play into the winds, lights, and whale stories of Jangsaengpo. We have prepared thoughtful routes, safety, and laughter so that parents and children can hold hands, experience the same moments together, and build lasting memories as a family here in Jangsaengpo.” |
