Nam-gu’s delegation (led by Mayor Dong-wook Seo) visited Oberursel, Germany, where they met with the city’s mayor, operated a Nam-gu promotional booth, and engaged in various exchange activities, boosting Nam-gu’s international profile and laying the foundation for practical cooperation.

On September 4, the delegation, including the Director of Welfare and Education Bureau, visited Oberursel City Hall and met with Mayor Antje Runge to discuss in depth ways to strengthen friendly relations.

Following the signing of a letter of intent for friendship exchange in June, the meeting became a key opportunity for both cities to establish a long-term cooperative relationship based on mutual understanding.

On September 6, the delegation also participated in the “3rd Korea meets Orschel,” operating a Nam-gu promotional booth.

The booth highlighted Nam-gu’s representative events such as the “Ulsan Whale Festival” and the “Jangsaengpo Hydrangea Festival,” and introduced the “Nine Scenic Views of Nam-gu” along with the mascot “Jangsaengi,” receiving enthusiastic responses from local residents.
The delegation also visited the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Frankfurt and met with Consul General Eunjeong Kim.

During the meeting, Nam-gu explained its industrial and cultural characteristics and sought advice on promoting exchanges with Oberursel. Consul General Kim promised active support to ensure smooth progress of future exchange projects.

Mayor Dong-wook Seo emphasized, “This visit and meeting with the Oberursel mayor became an important stepping stone for Nam-gu to advance onto the global stage. Just as we directly communicated with local citizens at the Korea?Oberursel Friendship Festival, we will further expand exchanges between the two cities across various fields.”
