Ulsan Nam-gu (Mayor Dong-wook Seo) held the first 2025 Active Administration Committee meeting and selected five outstanding cases of active administration from the first half of the year.

Nam-gu’s execution plan is built around the vision of “active administration that changes citizens’ daily lives” and outlines 11 action tasks across five key areas: fostering a culture of active administration led by the district mayor, strengthening incentives for active public officials, expanding protection and support for proactive officials, preventing and eliminating passive administration, and enhancing participation and communication.

As a result of evaluating 26 active administration cases received from each department, the committee selected 5 cases as excellent examples for the first half of the year.

The “Hope ON” project―the first in Korea to provide 24/7 welfare services year-round through convenience stores―was selected as the top initiative.

The initiative earned high praise due to it being a new model of public-private collaboration with potential for nationwide implementation.

Furthermore, cases such as the UDT (Uri Dongnae Teukkongdae) Safety Committee, recharging healthy energy through the local healthy university without barriers, immediate rebate of prepaid car tax when you sell or remove, and combination of integrated pledge and electronic contracts for easy and quick contracting were selected as excellent cases.

Nam-gu is planning to provide various benefits such as the highest level of incentives, bonus leave, and commendations to the officials behind each case.

While executing active administration execution tasks based on committee review results without delay, Nam-gu will continuously promote excellent cases whole increasing active administration capabilities within the public office through customized task education to expand voluntary culture of practice.
