On the 7th, Nam-gu (Mayor Dong-wook Seo) announced initiation of the “Garden Box Supply Project 2025,” urban agriculture by utilizing underused spaces such as porches and rooftops.

Garden boxes are designed for cultivating crops by planting seeds or seedlings in soil and fertilizer contained within a compact enclosure.

Nam-gu has prepared about 380 garden boxes using KRW 16 million in funds.

You can directly visit the administrative welfare center in your area of residence from the 14th to the 16th for application.

Each household can apply for up to two garden boxes, which are priced at KRW 42,000 each. A total of KRW 8,400 must be paid out of pocket.

Selected residents can collect garden boxes directly from their neighborhood administration welfare center until the end of this month.

An official stated that “We hope you can feel the happiness of harvesting eco-friendly vegetables”, and “We will keep on carrying out policies to vitalize the urban agriculture.”
