Ulsan Nam-gu (Mayor Dong-wook Seo) announced the opening of "Suam Hanu Night Market," Korea's only specialized night market, on the 15th.
The Suam Hanu Night Market that starts operations on the 15th is the only night market in Korea that provides roast Hanu (Korean beef) eatables, and you can buy Hanu at a 30% discounted price and cook it on charcoal at an outdoor table. In the Suam Hanu Night Market, 51 stalls will be operated that include foods such as grilled Hanu and fusion dishes, crafts, and experiences within the Suam Shopping Center arcade area, as well as culture concerts with participating young artists. Starting with the pre-ceremony performance by the Youth Dance Team on the opening day of the 15th, it will be followed up by performances by trot singers and the Silver Whales from the Munsu Silver Welfare Center. Additionally, performances for both youth and the middle aged will be held so it can be enjoyed by various generations, and multiple events will be provided for customers to participate and experience for people to enjoy a rich variety of events throughout the night. The Suam Hanu Night Market that was able to reopen after closing 3 years ago due to COVID-19 recorded an average of 3,500 daily visitors, 168,000 accumulated visitors, contributing an average increase of 15% in sales and a 20% increase in visitors to vitalize the traditional market-based economy. On the other hand, the Suam Hanu Night Market will be open from the 15th to June 29, which will reopen in September 6 until November 9 avoiding the hot season. Mayor Dong-wook Seo stated, "I wish the Suam Hanu Night Market could be frequented by visitors that come to Ulsan along with local residents as an attraction that represents Ulsan." and "We will provide support so it can play the role as a stimulant that vitalizes the traditional market and local economy." |
