- Expect to increase residents satisfaction with clean and pleasant sand playgrounds -

Nam-gu (Head: Seo Dong-wook) announced on Oct. 19 that it disinfected sand playground facilities in 16 children's parks including Samsan Eunbi Park in Nam-gu to provide children with safe and clean outdoor playgrounds.

The disinfection activities will be carried out by digging the sand with 30 cm deep to mix for better permeability, removing waste and other foreign substances to sterilize pathogenic bacteria with inorganic bacteriocide by spraying high concentration ozone water in high pressure, and the process will end by combing and flattening the sand to increase the durability of disinfection.

Nam-gu has created various types of ecological playgrounds using sand to provide children with eco-friendly places to enjoy.

Seo Dong-wook, head of Nam-gu, said, "We will constantly monitor children's parks by utilizing park maintenance personnel. We hope residents who visit parks to cooperate with us so that children can use safe and clean play facilities."
